Update, and all the things I did today until now
Slept really late last night, because I have gotten too much into the new Netflix show, 백종원의 레미제라블. Woke up at 2PM again, showered, put some food inside me with my husband. Also SKKU wanted me to submit some papers, so I just did that one quick thing. Oh, and I also went ahead and read Lee's thesis paper on upcyling. He said he had finished it. I had some mixed thoughts about it, not about quality, but because of the conversation I had with his thesis advisor. Ah.. She brings up too many of my complexes and trauma about Korean people and their attitude. She inssisted that it has to be only about upcycling and comparing the two cases, but I feel like while the subject is straightforward, it really offers nothing to the reader. And I had this icky feeling inside me that told me okay, this seems right, but it feels wrong...Finally I think I know what it is... in that way, while it could be very thorough, it just reads like the definition of upcycling, not what it could be. The subject itself, it doesn't raise any significant questions, which I think is the key function of a qualitative research paper. You have to become more curious to read. I mean we all know that certain upcycling businesses are there, and we all know what they look like, the same deconstructive look, but do people really like them? What makes them so attractive? What is their most successful strategy? Isn't that what matters? I got into this whole rabbit hole of thinking and feeling confused and sat around for an hour. Now I am able to sit at my desk. I will work for a couple of hours, go to the gym, then shop groceries with my husband, then work for maybe 3 more hours and then do something fun, and then go to sleep.
